Balfour & Houldsworth Golf Challenge Cups
Worsley Golf Club was one of the founder members of the Balfour & Houldsworth GCC, and Worsley member Frank Whitworth was the Hon Secretary for 10 of the early years, until 1910. Possibly for the first time in 127 years, the names of Worsley members appear, as the current holders, on three of the four trophies.
The Balfour Cup and the Houldsworth Cup have been held every year since 1897, apart from the War Years. The GS Lancashire competition was first played in 1921, and more recently in 2005, the Balfour Seniors Cup was added to the annual B&H Golf Competitions. (Click on the Cup Names to view past winners)

12th May - Houldsworth Cup at Leigh Golf Club - Better Ball Stableford - £44 pair
9th June - Balfour Cup at Disley Golf Club - Men’s Medal - £22 each player
21st July - GS Lancashire Cup at Crompton & Royton Golf Club -
Mixed Teams of 2 Gents 2 Ladies - £80 team
15th Aug - Seniors Balfour at Houldsworth Golf Club - Better Ball Stableford - £44 pair
